Other Key Accomplishments
Since the creation of the coalition in 2005, the membership has accomplished much.
- Over 200 providers attended the first annual person-centered care coalition conference in February 2006 and over 300 attended the second annual conference in 2007.
- The Assessment Committee worked with SCRIPS Gerontology Center to develop a series of optional questions regarding person-centered care and add those questions to the long-term care survey distributed to all long-term care providers in the state of Ohio. This survey is currently in the field.
- The domain www.centeredcare.org was selected and a website developed. A listserv discussion group has also been added.
- Dr. Matthew Wayne and Pam Riter, coalition members from Eliza Jennings Senior Care Network, participated in a CMS Webcast for surveyors about culture change in the nursing home.
- The Resource Committee has compiled a comprehensive and growing list of resources for individuals interested in learning more (available on www.centeredcare.org).
